Inspired by Max Richter's project 24 Postcards in Full Colour and the exhibition of films during the early 20th century in areas of amusement, 24 Postcards in Full Motion is a series of 24 short films created by Garrett D. Tiedemann with music by Duluth cellist Kathy McTavish that will be exhibited as an installation piece through 24 individual kinetoscopes. The films are of digital creation and will be exhibited as such, but around the digital platform a box will be erected to encase the film similarly to the original kinetoscopes allowing for individual immersion through the closing off of the eyes and ears. Additionally, the arrangement of the installation will be such that the audience will be able to view the films in any order of their choosing.
